One word, many experiences
We use the same word for early exhilaration, tenderness, desire, long-built attachment and the choice to remain present. Two people can speak of love while describing very different experiences.
Love is more than an emotion
Feelings fluctuate. A lasting relationship also rests on behaviour: listening, respecting limits, repairing after conflict and remaining curious about the person beside us.
Desire and security can coexist
Passion and stability are not opposites. Emotional safety can create the freedom to express desire, surprise each other and keep evolving.

A useful definition survives real life: loving without shrinking yourself, being close without possessing and choosing a relationship both people genuinely want.

There is no universal recipe. A worthwhile connection leaves room for desire, reciprocity, personal boundaries and the right to change your mind.
